Mullein (VERBASCUM)

Has a reported motion on the inferior maxillary department of the fifth pair of the cranial nerves; on the ear; and respiratory tract and bladder. Catarrhs, and colds, with periodical prosopalgia. Quiets nervous, and bronchial, and urinary irritation, and cough.

Face.–Neuralgia affecting zygoma, temporo maxillary joint, and ear (Menyanth), specifically of left side, with lachrymation, coryza, and sensation as if components have been beaten with tongs. Talking, sneezing, and trade of temperature irritate the pains; also, urgent tooth together. Pains appear to come in flashes, excited through least movement, happening periodically at equal hour in morning and afternoon every day.

Ears.–Otalgia, with a experience of obstruction. Deafness. Dry, scaly situation of meatus (use locally).

Abdomen.–Pain extends deep down, inflicting contraction of sphincter ani.

Rectum.–Many actions a day, with twisting about navel. Haemorrhoids, with obstructed, hardened stool. Inflamed and painful piles.

Respiratory.–Hoarse; voice deep, harsh; sounds like a trumpet; “basso profundo”. Cough; worse at night. Asthma. Soreness in pharynx, cough throughout sleep.

Urinary.–Constant dribbling. Enuresis. Burning urination. Increase with stress in bladder.

Extremities.–Cramp-like ache in soles, proper foot, and knee. Lower extremities experience heavy. Thumb feels numb. Neuralgic ache in left ankle. Stiffness and ache of joints of decrease extremities.

Modalities.–Worse, exchange of temperature, talking, sneezing, biting difficult (inferior dental nerve); from 9 am to four pm.

Relationship.–Compare: Rhus arom; Caust; Platin; Sphingurus (pain in zygoma).

Dose.–Mullein oil, (locally, for earache and dry, scaly situation of meatus. Also for teasing cough at night time or mendacity down. Internally, tincture and decrease potencies). Enuresis, five-drop doses night time and morning.
