Is mainly tailored to individuals of bilious temperament. It impacts particularly the duodenum, small intestines, liver, and rectum The Podophyllum sickness is a gastro-enteritis with colicky ache and bilious vomiting. Stool is watery with jelly-like mucus, painless, profuse. Gushing and offensive. Many troubles at some point of pregnancy; pendulous stomach after confinement; prolapsus uteri; painless cholera morbus. Torpidity of the liver; portal engorgement with a tendency to haemorrhoids, hypogastric pain, fullness of superficial veins, jaundice.
Mind.–Loquacity and delirium from ingesting acid fruits. Depression of spirits.
Head.–Vertigo, with tendency to fall forward. Headache, stupid pressure, worse morning, with heated face and bitter taste; alternating with diarrhoea. Rolling of head from aspect to side, moaning and vomiting and eyelids 1/2 closed. Child perspires on head for the duration of sleep.
Mouth.–Grinding the tooth at night; severe want to press the gums collectively (Phytol). Difficult dentition. Tongue broad, large, moist. Foul, putrid taste. Burning sensation of tongue.
Stomach.–Hot, bitter belching; nausea and vomiting. Thirst for massive portions of bloodless water (Bry). Vomiting of hot, frothy mucus. Heartburn; gagging or empty retching. Vomiting of milk.
Abdomen.–Distended; warmth and emptiness. Sensation of weak spot or sinking. Can lie without problems solely on stomach. Liver vicinity painful, higher rubbing part. Rumbling and moving of flatus in ascending colon.
Rectum.–Cholera infantum and morbus. Diarrhoea of lengthy standing; early in morning; at some stage in teething, with hot, glowing cheeks whilst being bathed or washed; in warm climate after acid fruits. Morning, painless diarrhoea when now not due to venous stasis or intestinal ulceration. Green, watery, fetid, profuse, gushing. Prolapse of rectum earlier than or with stool. Constipation; clay-colored, hard, dry, difficult. Constipation alternating with diarrhoea (Ant crud). Internal and exterior piles.
Female.–Pain in uterus and proper ovary, with moving noises alongside ascending colon. Suppressed menses, with pelvic tenesmus. Prolapsed uteri, specially after parturition. Haemorrhoids, with prolapsus ani all through pregnancy.
Extremities.–Pain between shoulders, below proper scapula, in loins and lumbar region. Pain in proper inguinal region; shoots down internal thigh to knees. Paralytic weak spot on left side.
Fever.–Chill at 7 am, with ache in hypochondria, and knees, ankles, wrists, Great loquacity in the course of fever. Profuse sweat.
Modalities.–Worse, in early morning, in warm weather, all through dentition.
Relationship.–Compare: Mandragora-also referred to as mandrake–(must no longer be confounded with Podoph. Great want for sleep; exaggeration of sounds and enlarged vision. Bowels inactive; stools large, white and hard). Aloe; Chelid; Merc; Nux; Sulph. Prunella-Self-head–(Colitis).
Dose.–Tincture to sixth potency. The two hundredth and one thousandth appear to do correct work in cholera infantum, when indicated.
