Mescal is a sturdy intoxicating spirit distilled from Pulque fuerte. Pulque is made from the Agave Americana of Mexico, regionally acknowledged as Maguey and is the countrywide beverage of Mexico. Indians name it Peyote. It weakens the heart, produces insanity. Relationship.–Compare Agave. The intoxication of Anhalonium is comparable to that of Cannabis Indica and Oenanthe.
